This recovery meter can be used when children are de-stimulating after an intense emotion such as anger, sadness or fear. It is a step-by-step plan: the child first sets a time-timer (e.g. an hourglass), then indicates how it feels (this can be done with the emotion meter ), then chooses fidgets to de-stimulate. As a final step, the child can indicate that it is calm or happy again.
